Gothic stained-glass window in Basel Minster, featuring religious figures in vibrant blue and purple hues, framed by a stone archway. The window's rich colors contrast dramatically with the surrounding sandstone walls in dim lighting.

A beautiful stained-glass window in the Basel Minster, which we visited during our city tour of Basel last week.

My dad was a catholic – or “incurably catholic” as he once jokingly said – and while he didn’t raise us religious or made us go to church or anything, I still visited quite a few as a kid. After he died, I couldn’t bring myself to even enter a church (Catholic or otherwise) for more than 15 years, and only recently have I felt able to do so again, which means a lot to me.

This photo here might not be my best, but it reminds me of that.
