Hello friends
I finally found some time last night to finish compiling and editing this list with some of the things I’ve been reading the past two weeks or so.
Enjoy!
๐ฆ Ethan Marcotte’s redesign
Ethan Marcotte shared a few thoughts on the newest redesign of his own site, which I like a lot.
๐ด Mise en place is about reducing stress
In cooking the french term mise en place means to get everything in place before you start. I like the way Luke Mitchell puts it here, that it’s about reducing stress when you do a thing, before you do the thing. It’s such an easy routine that works wonders when cooking, yet it’s so easy to forget when doing anything else.

๐ญ View Transitions
A great overview of the things one can do with View Transitions, including examples with WordPress themes, even though I think some of the examples labeled as “for Block Themes” would be just as valuable in an old classic/hybrid theme.

๐ฌ In Defense of Text Labels
Christopher Butler on why you should always be adding text labels to your icons and why they work so well together. Nothing to add.

๐๏ธ WordPress is adding Speculative Loading in v6.8
After developing and testing this as a feature plugin for almost two years, Speculative Loading will be coming to WordPress natively with 6.8. Felix Arntz introduced how it is implemented, what the benefits are and shows what we can do to customize it.

๐ง hue.tools
Another nice tool to modify and generate color schemes in the browser.
๐๏ธ Petcha Kutcha
Today I learned about Petcha Kutcha, an interesting storytelling format in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each, giving you exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds for a presentation. Sounds fun.
Have a great day! โ๏ธ
