Reading List #92

Hey there

I hope you had a good week โ€“ despite everything that was going on. We had half our family sick at home for a good part of the week which made it pretty chaotic. On the other hand, it made not getting sucked up too much in the world news a little easier.

I found it more difficult lately to decide where to put the links in here, so I decided to scrap the categories altogether for now, and see how it feels without them.

This will not affect anything thematically, it’s still going to be mostly links about Design, Development, Technology, WordPress, the Web in general and some random things I found interesting.

Enjoy!

๐Ÿ’ช How startups beat incumbents

I really started to dig the blog of Jason Cohen โ€“ A Smart Bear โ€“ lately, which is full of advice for startups, marketing and business in general. Really like his analytical approach to lots of things. In this article he writes about all the ways a small player can still win against large players, exactly because they are small. It’s a long one, but worth it.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป WP-CLI Bash Script to Pull from Production to Local

Brian Coords shared his WP-CLI script to easily pull a site’s content from production to local. I use a very similar approach, but he added some extra parameters to exclude stuff. Definitely a great way of pulling live content to local, I use this all the time!
