Reading List #105

Hi there ✌️

Hope you had a good weekend. Here’s what I’ve been reading last week.

Do the simplest thing that could possibly work

It also reminded me of this other article about why simple is not the same as easy that I’ve read some weeks ago.

The web behind glass

Thomas Günther took a satirical look at Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language. I have yet to update myself, but from the screenshots I’ve seen so far some of this is definitely not too far fetched.

“Your” vs “My” in user interfaces

Whether you should call something “Your” or “My” in a UI can be a tricky question. I like the way Adam Silver puts it in here.

Reasonably accurate, privacy conscious, cookieless, visitor tracking for WordPress

Terence Eden describes how he built a simple custom visitor tracking for his site from scratch, all without setting any cookies or other privacy intruding stuff.

This short article highlights why it’s important to test your sites with JavaScript turned off.
