Hi
I want to get into the habit of publishing this list more regularly going forward. To make that a little easier, I’ve decided to write less, limit myself to 5 links and hit publish each Friday again – at least for a while. Let’s see how this goes.
Reimagining Fluid Typography
Miriam Suzanne is thinking about the current state of fluid typography on the web and whether basing our calculations on 1em = 16px

Notional Design Studio
The US administration announced the formation of a “National Design Studio” and of course the single-pager for its main initiative “America by Design” is a shoddily made, 3MB large, inaccessible mess. Who would’ve thought.

The National Design Studio is a Scam
Christopher Butler has some thoughts about this as well and explains why all of this has more to do with regulatory capture and possibly corruption than with making anything better for citizens, like they claim.

Are AI companies really losing that much money?
We often hear that AI companies are losing money and have yet to find a sustainable business model. It’s a narrative that sounds very reasonable, and one that I certainly got behind as well. Martin Alderson did some napkin-math to try and reverse engineer the costs of running those models, which – even if he misses to include model-training and the cost of free users – seems to be painting a slightly different picture.
